Day 5. Discuss your current relationship. Taken/Single.
I am happily TAKEN since October 31, 2009.
Mike and I have been together since October 2009. We started talking in June of 2009, but that was only through being online and the occasional text message. It wasn’t till months later, that we decided to meet.
*Funny story. I was on a “date” in August. My date and I met up at the Rainbow Room. It just so happened that Mike and his friends were sitting at the bar. He says he noticed me first, but I approached him first. He sat and stared while gossiping about me to his friends. LOL! I can tell you exactly what he was wearing that day too. I had him in awe from that day on, because shortly after that evening, he sent me a message.
Ok, so back to being “Taken”. The night we decided to hang out, we had to go shopping for some items for a camping trip that we were both invited to by a mutual friend. We started our evening at Bob Evans. (Basically our first date, so one year later we went back to where it started) We went to Wal-Mart, JC Pennys, and Target. Looking for pajamas and snacks for the long weekend. We left on a Friday and returned from our camping trip inseparable. During the camping trip, another couple attended as well. One of the gentlemen says to Mike and I “You two are so cute, how long have you been together?” I replied “Ummm, less than a 4 days” I laughed, he went on to tell us, he and his partner had been together for a long time and it took them years to look as comfortable as Mike and I were together. I was comfortable from day one, Mike says he was too, but I know he was nervous. Ok ok ok I was a little nervous too. LOL! The 3 times we went out to dinner before the camping trip, I managed to spill food on myself. Good times
Melissa Ann and I were driving to her house for a weekend together while Dan was on a work trip. She asked me if I heard JoJos new cd “All I Want Is Everything”? I told her I hadn’t, so during the ride to her house she played a song from the album “Forever In My Life”. The minute I heard it I instantly thought of Mike. Every word in the song reminded me of Mike. That night I text him and said “If you want to know exactly how I feel about you, listen to this song on YouTube”. Of course him being a boy (lol) he didn’t reply.
A few weeks later on December 11, 2009, Mike stood in the kitchen of my apartment and told me the 3 words I had waited to hear. I love you. It was 7:13 pm. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.
It’s so crazy that it’s been almost 2 years now. I can’t imagine my life without Mike. I never thought that I would ever find the Ying to my yang, the “Knock knock” to my “Who’s there”, My best friend. I never knew love like this before. I had some seriously seedy relationships prior to Mike, but now that I am where I am supposed to be, I look at those relationships as mere practice for the best ride of my life. All of my birthday candle wishes came true, All my shooting stars came true, All of my prayers were answered from the minute I met him. Mike is supportive, loving, kind, amazing, always on my side, best cheerleader, funny, (sometimes romantic), selfless and wonderful man I have ever come into contact with. And I am lucky, because he chose me.
So I am happily taken, and hopefully in the near future he’ll buy me the ring I tried on.

P.S Mike was wearing shorts and a brown and green Polo that night at the Rainbow Room. =) He was going to add it to the yard sale stuff, but I made him hang it back up on the rack. Because that was the first thing I ever seen him in. How could I let him get rid of it? <3
