Day 4~ 31 day Challenge

Day 4~ 31 Day Challenge

Views on religion.

Some people may not like what I have to say about religion. That’s the best part about this being my blog though.

I do not believe in organized religion. I will give 3 examples why.

I was raised Catholic, but I do not practice. My mom was not the most religious person you’d ever meet, but she believed in her Religion. That was until her religion turned its back on her. My grandparents raised my Mom properly and religiously. She was baptized, confirmed, and the rest of the mumbo jumbo that goes with being Catholic. My parents raised us the same way. I don’t believe we were all confirmed though. I’ll have to ask Tina. Anyways, as you know my parents divorced when I was 5 years old. When my Mom decided to leave my Dad, she went to her church for guidance, support and for help. My Mom was turned away; she was told in so many words that she was no longer welcome there because she left my Dad. Mind you my Mom left my Dad for many reasons. Two of the reasons were abuse and his infidelity. My Mom was chastised for leaving a marriage that was not only affecting them, but all of their children. My Mom was considered a whore for breaking her vows with my Dad, even though my Dad was the one who was unfaithful, abusive and broke the vows. My Dad married the woman he had an affair on my Mom with. My Mom may not have been perfect, but I’ll be damned if I support a Religion that condemns my Mom for leaving my Dad for the things she had to endure in their marriage. And I’ll be damned if I allow myself to suffer the same scrutiny she did because I do not agree with their belief system.

Why would I believe in a religion that blatantly hides pedophilia by its own Clergy? They literally transfer them to a new Church. Give them a new life. Provide them with new prey. It is disturbing how so many cases go unreported, or are simply swept under the rug. It is disgusting, and I know MY God, will have the last word.

I also don’t believe in organized Religion because they are the main force to why Gay marriage isn't accepted or legal yet (That and politicians). I won’t go into too much detail about this, since it is a part of the 31 Day Challenge questions. You will have to wait for that day, to read my full response.

I may not have religion, but I have FAITH, I have GOD, I have SPIRITUALITY. I have all the things that I consider my own “religion”. I don’t need some religion telling me who, what and how I should live my life. God gave us all free will. Well I practice my free will daily. I pray, I worship and I encourage belief in God. I even have a chosen Saint. Not because of the “religion”, I believe in what she represents, I believe in the love that she shared, I believe in her purpose. My saint is St. Therese, if you haven’t heard of her, I suggest you do. I call on her during times of fear, happiness, needing, and prayer. She is my right hand woman to God, other than my Angels, and Jesus.

If I offended you, I make no apologies. These are my thoughts, my beliefs and my words. I will never apologize for being honest.

God’s love,

Nick xoxo
